Dawn Metropolis

Dawn Metropolis (2019) is a NES Music Cartridge created in collaboration with Batlab Electronics. It is an adaptation of the album of the same name by NYC based chiptune band Anamanaguchi, in celebration of its 10 year anniversary.

We based this project off an existing music playing framework used for previous music cart releases. My personal goal was to expand upon this by using graphical techniques that could recreate the original pixel art animation videos that accompanied the albums original release. A number of fairly advanced graphic tricks were employed in order to create entertaining visuals that matches the music.
