The Giffinator

The Giffinator (2018) is a portable party photobooth. It contains a DSLR camera, and utilizes green screen technology to create animated gifs of attendees that are uploaded to a hosted website. It was created with Mark Kleeb and Neil Sveri as part of Death by Audio Arcade.

I wrote the main application in C++ using OpenFrameworks. I also setup an Ubuntu Linux environment that integrates with the camera to mount it as a webcam. Gif generation is done asynchronously, as is uploading. The UI displays a QR Code that allows gif makers to get a link to creation.
